When Lean Enterprises Collide: Competing Through Confrontation
Published in Hardcover by Harvard Business School Press (October, 1995)
Author: Robin Cooper
Average review score:

Why Japan Inc doesn't let accountants rule marketing
The book is fascinating for its insights on target costing in addition to the better known Japanese working concepts of target quality and time to market in developing next generation products. It is suggested that everyone in the business team should vision what mix of quality features, price, and in-market date will be competitive, and then target these aims relentlessly. Processes must be tailored to fit them, and innovation priorities are defined by these goals. So target costing, for example, becomes the whole development team's job. Meanwhile accounting (and other performance) measures are seen as a distraction - open a separate book on them as a formality if necessary - but don't let them get in the way of the lean marketing learning organisation. The one disappointment of this book is that the twenty or so case studies of Japanese companies on which it is based are not included in it. For the full story, you will have to buy each Harvard case study. Why, God?
Published in Paperback by John Knox Pr (April, 1988)
Author: Burton Z. Cooper
Average review score:

Read this book if you are asking,"Where is God when I hurt?"
I strongly recommend this book to those who might be struggling with accepting that God might have had something to do with causing the pain or sorrow in their lives. Burton Cooper is a man of great compassion and wisdom. This book offers something of a challenge to traditional thinking about, "Why bad things happen if there is a good God." Many have said, "God made it happen for a larger good," or "God gives us trials to strengthen us." Burton rejects these answers and asks us to imagine a

Without Child: Experiencing and Resolving Infertility
Published in Paperback by Lexington Books (October, 1989)
Authors: Ellen Sarasohn Glazer and Susan Lewis Cooper
Average review score:

An emotionally touching book
This is a fantastic book filled with essays & poems on a variety of IF related subjects: reproductive technology, donor egg/sperm, adoption, childfree living, dealing with friends & family, and parenting after infertility. Each chapter contains a collection of essays written by people who have "been there, done that". It really helped me to read others stories & see that I wasn't alone. It is not a "solutions" book, but it definately gives you some different perspectives. There are some very funny stories as well as stories that will make you cry. I even read the chapters that didn't apply to my situation...it was that good!

The works minis : an illlustrated history
Exceptional documentary of historical racing and rally cars. Probably the definitive source for vintage racing. Photos and text accurately document this period of competition. This is one of the few sources for this type of info for the real vintage enthusiast.

Exceptional
I found the Yale Anglers' journal a refreshing perspective on the fishing world. It focuses on the literature and art of fishing, an interesting topic that has been largely ignored. This is the inaugural issue, and after reading it, I ordered a subscription. I cannot strongly enough reccomend the Journal for all anglers interested in not just how to fish, but why.

Yukoners : true tales of the Yukon
Published in Unknown Binding by Riverrun Pub. ()
Author: H. Gordon-Cooper
Average review score:

My uncles's adventures
This is a great book of tall tales and real life adventures. Harry Gordon-Cooper. As my mother called him a Jack of all trades. He led a remarkable life in the wilderness of the Yukon. From tales of wolfs tracking humans to the real life drama of child berth on a stricken bush plane. The book is well written with a great narrative style. You can almost picture Ira Biber and his clan. You can feel the call of the wild. A must book for all sourdoughs.

Zabordee's Caper
Published in Hardcover by Parkway Publishers, Inc. (01 September, 2002)
Authors: Ann Goode Cooper and Diana Jessee
Average review score:

About the importance of safety
Written by Ann Goode Cooper and illustrated by Diana Jessee, Zebordee's Caper is an engaging color picture book for children about the importance of safety, and avoiding dangerous activities such as playing with electrical outlets. Following the adventures of a young and playful ant called Zebordee, and many household hazards that challenge him when he wanders outside his safe ant farm, Zebordee's Caper doubles as a useful starting point for a serious parent-child discussion about safety in the home. The text is almost at an intermediate reading level, so parents should read the story aloud to very young children. Zebordee' Caper is a welcome and entertaining addition to any family, school, or community library collection.
